ܥܠ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܥܕܢܐ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܣܢܝܩܝܬܘܢ ܠܡܟܬܒ ܠܟܘܢ
el zbn' dyn wedn' 'khy l' snyqythwn lmkthb lkwn
But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܬܐ
'nthwn gyr shryr'yth ydeyn 'nthwn dywmh dmrn 'yk gnb' blly' hkn' 'th'
For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.

ܟܕ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܗܘ ܘܫܝܢܐ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܡܢܫܠܝܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܠܐ ܥܠ ܒܛܢܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܡܕܘܢ
kd n'mrwn dshlm' hw wshyn' whydyn mnshly' nqwm elyhwn 'bdn' 'yk khbl' el bTnth' wl' nmdwn
For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܢܕܪܟܟܘܢ
'nthwn dyn 'khy l' hwythwn bkhshwk' dhw ywm' 'yk gnb' ndrkkwn
But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

ܟܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܢܝ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܠܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܢܝ ܚܫܘܟܐ
klkwn gyr bny nwhr' 'nthwn wbny 'ymm' wl' hwythwn bny lly' wl' bny khshwk'
You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,

ܠܐ ܢܕܡܟ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܘܡܗܘܢܝܢ
l' ndmk hkyl 'yk shrk' 'l' hwyn eyryn wmhwnyn
so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܕܡܟܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪܘܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܪܘܝܢ
'ylyn gyr ddmkyn blly' hw dmkyn w'ylyn drwyn blly' hw rwyn
For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܚܢܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܒܪܥܝܢܢ ܘܠܒܝܫܝܢ ܫܪܝܢܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܘܒܐ ܘܢܣܝܡ ܣܢܘܪܬܐ ܕܣܒܪܐ ܕܚܝܐ
khnn dyn dbny 'ymm' khnn hwyn eyryn breynn wlbyshyn shryn' dhymnwth' wdkhwb' wnsym snwrth' dsbr' dkhy'
But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܣܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܪܘܓܙܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܩܢܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mTl dl' smn 'lh' lrwgz' 'l' lqnyn' dkhy' bmrn yshwe mshykh'
For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

ܗܘ ܕܡܝܬ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܕܐܢ ܥܝܪܝܢܢ ܘܐܢ ܕܡܟܝܢܢ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܥܡܗ ܢܚܐ
hw dmyth el 'pyn d'n eyrynn w'n dmkynn 'kkhd' emh nkh'
who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܝܐܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܘܒܢܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܥܒܕܝܬܘܢ
mTl hn' by'w khd lkhd wbnw khd lkhd 'ykn' d'p ebdythwn
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܘܩܝܡܝܢ ܒܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܘܡܠܦܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ
beynn dyn mnkwn 'khy dhwythwn ydeyn l'ylyn dl'yn bkwn wqymyn b'pykwn bmrn wmlpyn lkwn
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,

ܕܗܘܘ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܘܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܗܘܢ ܐܫܬܝܢܘ ܥܡܗܘܢ
dhww khshybyn lkwn bkhwb' ythyr' wmTl ebdhwn 'shthynw emhwn
and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake.
Be at peace among yourselves.

ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܪܕܘ ܠܡܣܟܠܢܐ ܘܠܒܒܘ ܠܙܥܘܪܝ ܢܦܫܐ ܘܣܒܘ ܛܥܢܐ ܕܡܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܓܪܘ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ
beynn dyn mnkwn 'khy rdw lmskln' wlbbw lzewry npsh' wsbw Ten' dmkhyl' w'grw rwkhkwn lwth klnsh
We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

ܘܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܢܦܪܘܥ ܐܠܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܗܪܛܘ ܒܬܪ ܛܒܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܚܕܕܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ
w'zdhrw dlm' 'nsh mnkwn byshth' khlp byshth' nprwe 'l' bklzbn hrTw bthr Tbth' lwth khdd' wlwth klnsh
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.

ܘܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܗܘܘ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܗܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܟܘܢ
wbkl mdm hww mwdyn hnw gyr tsbynh d'lh' byshwe mshykh' bkwn
In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

ܟܠܡܕܡ ܒܩܘ ܘܕܫܦܝܪ ܐܚܘܕܘ
klmdm bqw wdshpyr 'khwdw
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܢܩܕܫܟܘܢ ܓܡܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܟܠܟܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܘܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܘܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܢܢܛܪ ܕܠܐ ܪܫܝܢ ܠܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
hw dyn 'lh' dshlm' nqdshkwn gmyr'yth lklkwn wklh rwkhkwn wnpshkwn wpgrkwn nnTr dl' rshyn lm'thythh dmrn yshwe mshykh'
May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܕܩܪܟܘܢ ܕܗܘ ܢܥܒܕ
mhymn hw mn dqrkwn dhw nebd
He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

ܫܐܠܘ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܕܐܚܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܘܫܩܬܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ
sh'lw bshlm' d'khyn klhwn bnwshqth' qdyshth'
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

ܡܘܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܕܬܬܩܪܐ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܚܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ
mwm' 'n' lkwn bmrn dththqr' 'grth' hd' lklhwn 'kh' qdysh'
I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.

ܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ
Tybwthh dmrn yshwe mshykh' emkwn 'myn
